Azek Pavers Becomes Aspire By Brava After Acquisition

In February 2022, Brava acquired Azek pavers, a company focused on sustainable, durable, and beautiful outdoor patio and rooftop pavers. Brava is known for their superior roofing tiles that realistically mimic the look of traditional cedar shake, slate, and clay barrel tiles. Their knowledge of recycled materials — their roof tiles are made from recycled materials — and commitment to keeping waste out of landfills will continue to make Azek, now Aspire, a sustainable company focused on environmentally-friendly practices.

Now operating under the name Aspire by Brava, we have synthetic pavers that can be used to complete:

  • Rooftop decks

  • Decks

  • Patios

  • Driveways

  • Balconies

  • Walkways

  • Paths

  • Stairs

Our cutting-edge patented grid system makes it easy to install pavers on an existing deck or patio surface or work with the existing subgrade.

The acquisition by Brava will allow Aspire to expand its product list and add “options for sustainable, durable, and beautifully authentic choices,” according to Will Hall, VP of Sales and Marketing. As a result we will “not only serve existing customers, but build relationships with new customers.”

About Azek

Azek began in 1983 with the goal of providing low-maintenance, beautiful outdoor living products that leveraged innovation in material science to offer environmentally sustainable solutions for outdoor needs.

Their commitment to embracing sustainability and the responsibility of protecting the environment is clear in their ambitious goals, including using one billion pounds of recycled material annually by the end of 2026 in order to create Azek resurfacing pavers.

For Azek composite pavers, they have come full-circle with their products, production, workplace environment, and customer experience. Their passion for making a lasting impact on the world through recycled materials and sustainable practices made them a perfect fit for acquisition by Brava.

Azek pavers cost between $7.00 and $9.00 per square foot, plus the cost of installation. Labor costs with an Azek paver system can be lower than labor costs to install conventional concrete pavers because they are so easy to install.

About Brava

Brava was founded in 2008 with the goal of crafting eco-friendly roofing materials that mirror the raw materials that have been used on roofs throughout history. Their lightweight and durable synthetic roof tiles provide the look of cedar shake, slate, and clay barrel tiles but without the downsides of traditional materials.

An issue that Brava saw in the market was that alternative materials weren’t recreating the beauty of the natural color variation found in natural materials, and they sought to change that. Using their patented mineral-infusion process, they created the most natural-looking variegated tiles in the world that mimic the unique color variations and soothing hues of wood, slate, and clay

With Brava’s dedication to sustainability and their high quality recycled products, Azek Pavers was a logical fit to complement the line of synthetic roof tiles offered by Brava.

Aspire Pavers

The partnership between Brava and Azek led to Aspire by Brava. Together, our continued commitment to environmental protection and desire to divert as much material from the waste stream as possible will have a lasting impact on the environment and our practices to protect it.

Environmental Commitment

Brava brings their knowledge of post-consumer recycled materials to help Aspire continue to be a leader in products made from recycled material.

Azek has kept over one million tires from reaching the landfill. Combine that with the over 34 plastic containers that they also intercepted to give new life as patio pavers, and they’ve successfully diverted over 18 million pounds of discarded rubber and plastics from the waste stream.

We committed to keeping waste out of landfills, and our manufacturing process requires 95% less energy and produces 96% less CO2 emissions than the manufacturing of conventional concrete pavers.

Easy Installation

Our patented grid system allows for fast and easy installation — less than 40% of the time it takes to install traditional concrete pavers. This installation process can lower labor costs or make it a weekend DIY project for the handy homeowner. They can be installed and cut with standard tools — no specialty tools required!

The pavers arrive on a mat, so when you dump the pavers off of their transport mat, the same mat is then used as the installation mat, saving on wasteful transportation materials that would otherwise be discarded.

Color And Size Selection

Aspire Pavers are available in four different colors — Boardwalk, Olie, Redwood, and Waterwheel — with a lightly textured finish to create a stunning outdoor oasis.

Available in three different sizes, our pavers can be installed in a variety of patterns, including Herringbone, Basketweave, Running Bond, Plain Weave, Block Lattice, and Soldiered.
